Why McMaster University?

McMaster is a leader in Canadian research and is dedicated to helping explore and test all possible treatments for multiple sclerosis.   As well, Dr. Mark Haacke (an adjunct Professor at McMaster University and Director of the The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Institute for Biomedical Research) is a pioneer in MR angiographic imaging methods with a major interest in multiple sclerosis, and is developing a research program into the study of CCSVI.

MS Liberation is trying raise funds to help expedite research relating to CCSVI and Multiple Sclerosis. At this time, we are focusing on getting funds for the Hamilton Project, a joint initiative between McMaster University and St.Joseph’s Hospital.

Please note UBC is also raising funds for research.  However, if you are unsure of which organization to support, please visit Charitable Intelligence for information on donor choices for Canadian CCSVI research.

How will my donation be used?

Your donations will be used to research whether or not CCSVI is specific to people with MS by:

1) Helping to establish the imaging technology that can be used in both clinical and research sites alike.

2) Creating a national MS database related to CCSVI where data from patients and normal controls can be compared.

3) Supporting the faculty, staff, students and all aspects of MS research related to CCSVI.

4) Beginning a major research study into imaging patients and controls.
